An old or physically disabled person may find difficult to pick up the phone and especially to hang it back properly. If the phone is not properly hung up, the telephone line may be disabled for a longer period of time. This happens more often when a stressing situation exists. That is exactly when a telephone is most needed.

Present solution:

The closest existent solution to this problem is known as "life line". This is very useful when there is a risk for unexpected health problems. However, our initial problem of picking up the phone and hanging it back properly remains. Even when people subscribe to a service like "life line" they still use the telephone to call and receive calls.
